Britten: Spring Symphony

Sunday 19 June 2022, 5:00 pm

Oxford Town Hall

Britten’s Spring Symphony is one of the most joyous works in his output. Choir, soloists, orchestra, and a children’s chorus come together to chart through settings of a variety of English poets the transition from the grim chill of winter to the uproarious arrival of spring. The Choir will also give the premiere of To Spring, a new setting of a poem by William Blake by the exciting young composer Alissa Firsova, which was specially commissioned for our 125th anniversary.

Conductor: Benjamin Nicholas

Orchestra: BBC National Orchestra of Wales
